This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

I can't agree more. This seldom seen ruling against the gun lobby places public safety above the desire of a few individuals to swagger around in a public place with a loaded weapon. It's a small victory for good common sense, and public safety.

as a public safety officer I think I ought to be able to carry a gun in the airport, since I do have proper training.....but, civlians don't need to have them in the airport...however, yor comment about people "swaggering around in a public place" shows your lack of awareness about the world around you and the risks that are increasingly present....you need to read Lt. Col. Dave Grossman's essay on "Sheep, Wolves and Sheepdogs"...you are what is considered a sheep

Too bad. Sounds like Georgia is permitting law abiding people the right to defend themselves and they really need it in Atlanta, due to the high crime rate.

Atlanta isn;t bad, long as you live outside of it, way outside of it....LOL most overrated city in the south...and I have plans in the works to move away from it before it spreads as far awat from it as I have moved....I lived 20 miles out of town and it got overrun with the trash from inside the perimeter....moved 20 miles further...same thing...this time I hopefully bought enough time to live here for a little while before I gotta move away from the inside the perimeter trash

how can a judge change what the airport officals have already banned any kind of firearms? I for one, do not want to see a person going through any airports with guns on their persons. And WHY do these people think they have to have a fire arm at the airport? Quite illogical if you ask me. And unsafe at any elevation.

In what alternate universe is it OK to carry firearms into a crowd if you're not TRAINED law enforcement? That's the trouble with the world today (and always was, for that matter); people wanting to 'defend' themselves. Get real!! All you're going to do is shoot yourself in the foot, or, what more commonly happens, you'll shoot everybody except who you're aiming at.
And as for the argument that an airport is a public transportation center...um...you can always jump out of a bus or train window if things get hairy. If you're in a plane....
Lord, please deliver us from stupid!

It amazes me how these gun toter's do not see the danger of anyone with a gun in the airport. Are they that blind. Ok, so most are responsible and do not have an alternative plan but there are so many more that will get the permit to commit a terrorist attack then will the gun toter's say? Well it wasn't me? It is a good thing guns aren't allowed in airports and whoever can not understand that are idiots.

Your comments are well stated. have we forgotten about September 11? It's the "others" you referred to that worry me as well.

the "others" don't have permits or get their stuff legally or through normal channels....how is restricting law abiding citizens going to prevent another 9/11?

Today its carrying to the airport, tomorrow it will be carrying on the plane. As a resident of Atlanta and a frequent flier, anyone avoiding Harts-field/Jackson airport because they do not feel safe, that's one less person to content with. Let them take their concealed weapon and drive to their destination. I would like to know which international airports with the same amount of traffic allows its law abiding citizens to carry concealed weapons to the airport. Now that's the airport to avoid.
